Legionnaires': Health chiefs declare the capital outbreak over


On Wednesday, NHS Lothian said although more patients who have been ill for some
time may yet be diagnosed, there have been no cases contracted since the end of thescotland-outbreak.jpg
incubation period.

As a result, the incident management team met on Tuesday and decided to make the declaration. 

A total of 101 cases have been identified in the outbreak. Three men have died,
including Robert Air who contracted the disease while working on a building site
in the Gorgie area of the city.

The disease broke out in the south west of Edinburgh at the end of May. An outbreak was declared on June 3 after four cases were diagnosed.
